Advisory Board

The The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) Advisory Board consists of a cross-section of distinguished global leaders who regularly gather in Nigeria to discuss strategy and guide the growth and development of TEF.

The Board members represent the pinnacle of success in the public, private and non-profit sectors. They include former prime ministers, CEOs, investment bankers and philanthropists from every corner of the globe.

During a 2011 meeting with the Advisory Board, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, President of Nigeria, thanked board members for their commitment to Africa’s transformation and assured them that his government will continue to support catalytic initiatives like those outlined by the Foundation because of the profound impact they have on the people and the country.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan from 2004 to 2007, who was named “Prime Minister of the Year” by the prestigious Euromoney and The Banker magazine. Former Executive Vice President of Citigroup.

Runa Alam

Chief Executive Officer of Development Partners International and Non-Executive Board member of United Bank for Africa (UBA), who has a quarter-century of investment banking, emerging market management and private equity experience.

Teresa Clarke

Founder and CEO of Africa.com, who formerly served as a Managing Director in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs & Co.

Dr. Luisa Dias Diogo

Served as Prime Minister of Mozambique from 2004 to 2010 and who played a key role in transforming that country’s economy of that country.

Stewart J. Paperin

Executive Vice President of the Open Society Foundations and President of the Soros Economic Development Fund, one of the world’s largest and most innovative social investment funds.

Henrik Skovby

Founding Global Managing Partner of Dalberg, a renowned strategy consulting firm, with offices on five continents, that is primarily focused on economic development.

Vimal Shah

The Chief Executive Officer of the Bidco Group, an agribusiness company operating in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, and one of the largest and fastest growing manufacturing companies in East Africa. He is also the former Chair of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM).
