The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) operates through a series of programs and initiatives to generate action and capital that fosters competition in the African private sector.
These include:
Leadership Development Initiatives to transform management education in Africa, with a particular focus on Africa’s business schools. The flagship initiative is the African Markets Internship Programme (AMIP), which matches MBA students from top African and international business schools with innovative mid-sized African- owned businesses across the continent.
Policy Work with Governments and Relevant Stakeholders to make legislative changes that create a more competitive environment for the domestic private sector in key African countries.
Research and other Data-Driven Initiatives that help gain a thorough understanding of Africa’s private sector.
Investments in Innovative African Business that create financial, social and environmental impact in key development sectors. As the African champion for impact investing, the Foundation also works to build the field across Africa and serves as the African voice on the subject.
