Arielle is a 23 years old medical doctor who has a vocation to enhance the healthcare system in Africa by providing technological solutions through her startup KEA Medicals Pharmaceutics & Technologies. Her start-up currently provides a range of services, including the possibility of consulting a patient’s records online and the creation of a Universal Medical Identity (UMI), a sort of individual data file on each patient. Through her company, patients are prompted to create an account on the platform, by providing basic information such as their identity, known allergies, chronic illnesses, blood type, etc. Once registered, each patient receives an individual UMI signature in the form of a QR barcode. This barcode can be printed on different media and devices: wristbands, patches, cards and other portable devices. The doctor only has to scan the patient’s QR code to access his or her entire medical history within a matter of seconds. No more time wasted.

بينما كان في مرحلة التفكير في مشروعه، تقدمت هدى كواكو ستيف بطلب للحصول على برنامج ريادة الأعمال التابع لمؤسسة توني إلوميلو. إن كونه جزءًا من البرنامج قد ساعده على فهم فكرته بشكل أفضل. هيكلتها وإضفاء الطابع الرسمي على الشركة. وقد مكنه رأس المال الأولي من إطلاق الأنشطة التجارية وإجراء اختبارات مختلفة على حلولها.

مشروعه، Afririce، يساعد المنتجين الذين يشعرون بالإحباط والتوتر بسبب صعوبة الدرس-التذرية، على حل أسهل مع مذرية الدراس الخاصة بهم. كانت الآلة مخصصة في الأصل للأرز، وهي الآن مناسبة لدرس وتذرية فول الصويا، وهو الأكثر ملاءمة حيث شهدت بنين في السنوات الأخيرة ارتفاعًا في إنتاج فول الصويا.

وفي عام 2018، تم تقديم الحل في ندوة الابتكار التي عقدت في روما في المقر الرئيسي لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة، حيث تم تصنيف ستيف وفريقه ضمن 20 قصة نجاح لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة في مجال الحد من الجوع. تم اختيار الفريق من قبل الحكومة الأمريكية من خلال USADF للاستفادة من تمويل ما يقرب من $100000 لميكنة العمليات الزراعية في 3 مناطق كبيرة لإنتاج الأرز وفول الصويا في بنين. وسيمكن المشروع، المخطط له على مدى عامين، من رقمنة المجلس الزراعي في قطاعات الحبوب.

Sounouvou founded Exportunity, a site that promotes export opportunities for Africans by connecting producers with traders. It allows a farmer in Benin to sell his produce to a buyer in South Africa – or the United States – through a cell phone. Through the trade events, Sounouvou has engaged over 750 clients, and built a database of 85,000 companies trading with Africa. He also employs 32 people.
