{"id":2505,"date":"2015-08-24T07:52:31","date_gmt":"2015-08-24T07:52:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tonyelumelufoundation.org\/?post_type=pressrelease&#038;p=2505"},"modified":"2018-10-04T17:34:40","modified_gmt":"2018-10-04T17:34:40","slug":"25-empreendedores-de-tony-elumelu-se-reunem-com-o-governador-el-rufai-e-inspiram-o-empreendedorismo-no-estado-de-kaduna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tonyelumelufoundation.org\/pt\/news\/25-tony-elumelu-entrepreneurs-meet-with-governor-el-rufai-and-inspire-entrepreneurship-drive-in-kaduna-state","title":{"rendered":"25 empreendedores de Tony Elumelu se re\u00fanem com o governador El-Rufai e inspiram iniciativas de empreendedorismo no estado de Kaduna"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_2508\" style=\"width: 625px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tonyelumelufoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/kaduna.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2508\" class=\"wp-image-2508 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/tonyelumelufoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/kaduna.jpg\" alt=\"kaduna\" width=\"615\" height=\"411\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2508\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Executive Governors, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State and Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, and Tony Elumelu Foundation Chief Operating Officer, Abimbola Adebakin, with the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs based in Kaduna at a meet up session hosted by Nasir El-Rufai at the weekend in Kaduna.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>24 August, 2015: KADUNA, NIGERIA<\/strong> \u2013 The Tony Elumelu Foundation and 25 Kaduna based entrepreneurs from the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) were hosted by His Excellency, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State at the weekend to an informative session at the Government House, Kaduna.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, Tony Elumelu Foundation Chief Operating Officer, Abimbola Adebakin, presented data from the Foundation\u2019s research and policy arm- The Africapitalism Institute, revealing statistics about stumbling blocks that entrepreneurs face, based on interviews with 25 Kaduna entrepreneurs from TEEP.<\/p>\n<p>Parminder Vir OBE, CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation said of the initiative:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlmost 500 of the 1,000 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs we selected for TEEP 2015 are Nigerian, and we are proud of the fact that this nation is bursting with entrepreneurial talent. What we are doing with TEEP is to empower start-ups with training, mentorship and access to finance. This event with Governor El-Rufai signifies the growing awareness that entrepreneurship is catalytic to job creation and economic prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the event, Governor El-Rufai, who delivered a keynote address in July at the innaugural bootcamp for the selected 1000 entrepreneurs of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme, reiterated his position on the role of government in supporting entrepreneurship:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like what Tony Elumelu is doing with this entrepreneurship programme [\u2026] and I am especially encouraged to see that 8 out of the 25 Kaduna Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs are in agriculture. I want to see more of our young people doing the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hafiz Bayero, Special Assistant to Governor El-Rufai on Job Creation, Kaduna, also gave a talk on the State\u2019s plans to empower entrepreneurs, and revealed that the 12-week online training programme of TEEP would be replicated in Kaduna.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the Nigerian Governors\u2019 Forum, His Excellency, Abdulaziz Yari and Katsina State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari also joined the session with the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs and expressed alignment with this initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Tony O. Elumelu, Founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation commended the governor for keeping his pledge to support the entrepreneurs, saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEntrepreneurs are the lifeblood\u00a0of any society and\u00a0I believe\u00a0that the private sector\u2019s push for development is enhanced\u00a0when government creates the enabling environment.\u00a0Gov.
