Elumelu, OFR, na Confer\u00eancia de Mulheres Diretoras de 2024 do Chartered Institute Of Diretors Nig\u00e9ria"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bom dia, ilustres senhoras, estimados convidados, todos os presentes aqui hoje e tamb\u00e9m em linha.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Se me permitem, vou manter todo o protocolo existente.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00c9 com grande prazer que me dirijo a v\u00f3s para falar sobre este tema.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00c9 uma palavra que diz muito, mas \u00e9 muito importante e est\u00e1 em sintonia com os desafios e oportunidades do nosso tempo: \"Liderar numa Era Disruptiva: Opportunities in Emerging Technologies, Diversity, Equity &amp; Inclusion (DEI), and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)\".<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>O debate de hoje desafia-nos a repensar a lideran\u00e7a num mundo onde a mudan\u00e7a \u00e9 a \u00fanica coisa constante.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A ado\u00e7\u00e3o de conversas como esta garantir\u00e1 que n\u00e3o somos deixados para tr\u00e1s, mas que estamos antes equipados para aproveitar as oportunidades que se avizinham.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Compreender a era da disrup\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>De facto, vivemos numa era disruptiva - uma era com r\u00e1pidos avan\u00e7os tecnol\u00f3gicos, normas sociais em muta\u00e7\u00e3o e uma maior consci\u00eancia das nossas responsabilidades ambientais.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nunca assistimos a um ritmo de mudan\u00e7a como este. \u00c9 completamente sem precedentes e est\u00e1 a remodelar ind\u00fastrias, economias e o pr\u00f3prio tecido da nossa sociedade.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mas, por mais desafiante que esta perturba\u00e7\u00e3o possa parecer, temos de a aceitar, n\u00e3o como uma amea\u00e7a, mas como um catalisador para a inova\u00e7\u00e3o e o crescimento.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Todos concordaremos que, nas \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, foram feitos progressos no que respeita \u00e0s mulheres.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As mulheres j\u00e1 n\u00e3o s\u00e3o apenas participantes na revolu\u00e7\u00e3o tecnol\u00f3gica, mas s\u00e3o pioneiras, inovadoras e l\u00edderes que impulsionam a mudan\u00e7a em todos os sectores.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Esta nova era oferece-nos a oportunidade de entrar em espa\u00e7os que antes eram inacess\u00edveis - os tectos de vidro.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conhecemos os desafios; no entanto, lideramos com uma vis\u00e3o que \u00e9 inclusiva, equitativa e sustent\u00e1vel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mas o que significa realmente quando dizemos que queremos liderar numa era disruptiva?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significa antecipar as mudan\u00e7as e preparar-se para elas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significa tirar partido das ferramentas e tecnologias \u00e0 nossa disposi\u00e7\u00e3o para n\u00e3o s\u00f3 sobreviver como prosperar num mundo em constante evolu\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significa ser \u00e1gil e inovador.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Para as mulheres, em particular, significa tamb\u00e9m quebrar as barreiras tradicionais e assumir pap\u00e9is de lideran\u00e7a com confian\u00e7a e objectivos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Esta revolu\u00e7\u00e3o digital deu in\u00edcio a uma nova vaga de tecnologias emergentes - desde a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o da IA para melhorar os nossos processos de tomada de decis\u00f5es e a forma como analisamos os dados, at\u00e9 \u00e0 utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o da cadeia de blocos para uma maior transpar\u00eancia nas opera\u00e7\u00f5es, as possibilidades s\u00e3o infinitas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Estas tecnologias n\u00e3o est\u00e3o apenas a transformar as ind\u00fastrias, est\u00e3o a remodelar a forma como vivemos, a forma como trabalhamos e a forma como interagimos com o mundo que nos rodeia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00c9 fundamental que estejamos bem posicionados para defender a sua utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abra\u00e7ar a Diversidade, a Equidade e a Inclus\u00e3o (DEI):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Para mim, enquanto mulher afro-nigeriana, estou muito consciente dos desafios que enfrentamos - desde o preconceito de g\u00e9nero ao acesso limitado \u00e0s oportunidades.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No entanto, tamb\u00e9m estou consciente da imensa for\u00e7a que reside na nossa diversidade.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>H\u00e1 13 anos, o meu marido e eu cri\u00e1mos a Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Tony Elumelu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Como co-fundadora da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Tony Elumelu (TEF), vi em primeira m\u00e3o o impacto de equipar as mulheres.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Na Funda\u00e7\u00e3o, estamos empenhados em capacitar e apoiar jovens empres\u00e1rios africanos em todos os pa\u00edses africanos - tanto homens como mulheres.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quando come\u00e7\u00e1mos a primeira ronda de candidaturas, t\u00ednhamos muito poucas mulheres. Menos de uma fra\u00e7\u00e3o de um ter\u00e7o eram mulheres.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mas compreendemos a import\u00e2ncia da capacita\u00e7\u00e3o e da inclus\u00e3o das mulheres e, por isso, fizemos tudo o que estava ao nosso alcance para que mais mulheres se candidatassem e fossem financiadas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>O que fazemos na Funda\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 identificar estes jovens africanos com ideias de neg\u00f3cio, form\u00e1-los, orient\u00e1-los e dar-lhes $5.000 n\u00e3o reembols\u00e1veis para as suas empresas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tenho o prazer de dizer que, 10 anos depois, j\u00e1 financi\u00e1mos mais de 8000 empresas detidas por mulheres nos 54 pa\u00edses africanos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Isto representa um n\u00famero impressionante de 46% do total de empres\u00e1rios que financi\u00e1mos no nosso continente.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vimos que, verdadeiramente, quando se d\u00e1 poder a uma mulher, d\u00e1-se poder \u00e0 na\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Acreditamos nas capacidades das mulheres para multiplicar, nutrir e transformar as suas na\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Em 2021, estabelecemos uma parceria com a Google e a Women Entrepreneurs for Africa (WE4A) para fornecer financiamento exclusivamente a mulheres empres\u00e1rias, porque acreditamos que podemos fazer mais.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sabemos que dever\u00edamos, de facto, fazer mais.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00c9 interessante notar que, em m\u00e9dia, as mulheres benefici\u00e1rias da Funda\u00e7\u00e3o declararam ter obtido um lucro ligeiramente superior ao dos homens num m\u00eas t\u00edpico do ano passado.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sabemos que as mulheres trazem perspectivas, experi\u00eancias e ideias \u00fanicas para a mesa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ao longo dos anos, pass\u00e1mos a ver a nossa suavidade e as nossas fraquezas como uma for\u00e7a.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00c9 mais prov\u00e1vel que invistamos os nossos rendimentos na sa\u00fade, educa\u00e7\u00e3o e bem-estar das nossas fam\u00edlias, tirando comunidades inteiras da pobreza.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Escusado ser\u00e1 dizer que a capacita\u00e7\u00e3o das mulheres tem um efeito de arrastamento que se estende muito para al\u00e9m dos benef\u00edcios individuais.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quando as mulheres prosperam, tornam-se modelos e agentes de mudan\u00e7a nas suas comunidades, inspirando outros e catalisando mudan\u00e7as sociais positivas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vejamos, por exemplo, as hist\u00f3rias de sucesso de algumas empres\u00e1rias que foram capacitadas pelo TEF, o impacto que tiveram e a tecnologia inovadora que utilizaram para promover a mudan\u00e7a:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>1.  Olamide Ayeni, um benefici\u00e1rio de 2016 do Programa de Empreendedorismo TEF, est\u00e1 a tirar partido da tecnologia para inovar na gest\u00e3o de res\u00edduos<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Antecedentes:<\/strong> Olamide \u00e9 um empres\u00e1rio nigeriano e fundador da Hopcyku (anteriormente Pear Recycling), uma empresa que transforma res\u00edduos em produtos valiosos e promove a sustentabilidade ambiental.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impacto:<\/strong> Sob a lideran\u00e7a de Olamide, a Hopcyku tornou-se pioneira na gest\u00e3o inovadora de res\u00edduos, criando produtos de alta qualidade a partir de res\u00edduos t\u00eaxteis e de borracha, ao mesmo tempo que promove a literacia clim\u00e1tica.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A sua empresa utiliza a IA e a an\u00e1lise preditiva para otimizar os processos de transforma\u00e7\u00e3o de res\u00edduos e antecipar as prefer\u00eancias dos consumidores, melhorando significativamente a sua efici\u00eancia operacional e o desenvolvimento de produtos.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inova\u00e7\u00e3o:<\/strong> By way of innovation, she has demonstrated how technology can be leveraged to revolutionise waste management, ensuring it is both profitable and environmentally sustainable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They also leverage open-source software to keep costs down while improving efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Nana Amoako-Anin &#8211; Leveraging Technology to Transform Yoga in Ghana<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Antecedentes:<\/strong> Nana Amoako-Anin, a 2016 beneficiary of the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme, is the Founder of Bliss Yoga Accra and, one of the few full-service yoga studios in West Africa.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After moving back to Ghana from New York City, she established her business to make yoga more accessible and popular in Ghana.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Impacto:<\/strong> Bliss Yoga Accra has been instrumental in popularising yoga in Ghana, offering group and private classes, yoga teacher certifications, and stress relief programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As one of the few African, woman-owned established studios, it&#8217;s changing the narrative on the accessibility and face of yoga in the region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inova\u00e7\u00e3o:<\/strong> Nana is leveraging technology in several keyways to drive her business success: She employs a custom app and database to track client preferences and class popularity, enabling data-driven decision-making that keeps the studio responsive to customer needs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When faced with pandemic restrictions, Nana quickly pivoted to offer yoga teacher training entirely online, opening new opportunities for scaling operations, attracting a diverse, global clientele.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These examples are a testament to what is possible when we embrace technology and use it as a tool for empowerment and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 However, for these technologies to be truly transformative, we must ensure that its adoption is inclusive, and that it offers equal opportunities for women to participate, innovate, and lead in this digital era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 In my capacity as Chairperson of Avon Healthcare and Avon Medical Practice, I have witnessed the transformative power of these technologies in the healthcare sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 At Avon HMO, we are at the forefront of utilising advanced data analytics and digital solutions to revolutionise healthcare delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 By harnessing the capabilities of big data and machine learning, we can gain deeper insights into patient needs, accurately predict health trends, and personalise healthcare plans more efficiently and effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 By monitoring these metrics, we can pinpoint areas for improvement, implement best practices, and ultimately improve service quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 It is also worth noting that this dynamic transformation is being spearheaded by a team led by female leadership, under the able leadership of the CEO, Adesimbo Ukiri and her team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 This, again, underscores the significant contributions that women bring to the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 All of these cannot be overstated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 While we focus on empowering women, it is equally important to acknowledge the role men play in this journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Men must be allies in the pursuit of inclusion and women empowerment, understanding that true equity benefits everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 You see, in the medical line, nursing was long perceived as a female-dominated profession, and this idea was deeply rooted in the traditional view of women as the caregivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 However, this bias began to shift due to several factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Societal attitudes towards gender roles began to evolve, recognising that caregiving is not inherently feminine but a human trait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Over time, male nurses have become more visible and respected, helping to dismantle the stereotype that nursing is a &#8220;woman&#8217;s job.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Today, men are increasingly recognised as integral members of the nursing profession, contributing to diverse perspectives and approaches in patient care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 It is no longer just a moral imperative; it is a strategic advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 It is about creating an environment where every individual, regardless of their gender, can contribute their unique perspectives and talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Diverse teams are more innovative, more resilient, and better equipped to navigate complex challenges as we know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Studies have shown that companies with higher levels of gender diversity are more likely to outperform their peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 But we must be prepared. We must be ready to contribute our own quota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conclus\u00e3o<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In closing, I want to emphasise that this disruptive age presents us with an unprecedented opportunity to lead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By leveraging emerging technologies, embracing and driving inclusion, we are one more step close to overcoming the barriers that have historically held women back and seize the leadership opportunities that lie ahead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As female directors, we are not just participants in this transformation; we are leaders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We have the power to shape the future, to create organisations that reflect our values, and to inspire the next generation of women leaders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I would like to charge everyone to remain committed to continuous learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We must always seek to learn and improve.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I find that keeping up with emerging technologies isn&#8217;t just a professional necessity\u2014it&#8217;s a personal one, too.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a mother of five young girls, I continue to learn from them and grow.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These girls are extremely digitally savvy and always talking about a new trend, I often find myself learning new things just to keep pace with them!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This constant learning is not just vital for staying relevant in our careers but also in our daily lives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I encourage each of you to embrace this moment, to lead with courage, and to use your influence to drive positive change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Together, we can create a world where women are at the forefront of innovation, and inclusive change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Obrigado<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonyelumelufoundation.org\/pt\/elementor-25134\/\"><strong>Dr. Awele V.
