{"id":7974,"date":"2018-12-14T12:42:29","date_gmt":"2018-12-14T12:42:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tonyelumelufoundation.org\/?p=7974"},"modified":"2018-12-14T12:43:36","modified_gmt":"2018-12-14T12:43:36","slug":"fundacao-tony-elumelu-leva-tefconnect-a-feira-comercial-intra-africana-no-egito","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tonyelumelufoundation.org\/pt\/news\/tony-elumelu-foundation-takes-tefconnect-to-intra-african-trade-fair-in-egypt","title":{"rendered":"Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Tony Elumelu leva TEFConnect para feira comercial intra-africana no Egito"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tony Elumelu Foundation, Africa\u2019s leading philanthropy empowering African entrepreneurs, was represented by a delegation at\u00a0Afrexim Bank&#8217;s Intra Africa Trade Fair in Cairo, Egypt where TEFConnect &#8211; the largest digital networking platform connecting African entrepreneurs, investors and mentors, was unveiled to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the panel &#8220;Making Intra-African Trade work for business \u2013 Views from practitioners&#8221;\u00a0at the Intra Africa Trade Fair (IATF), Cairo, on December 12, 2018, TEF Business Specialist, Folarin Aiyegbusi, emphasized the importance of African trade integration and the role of the Foundation\u2019s recently launched TEFConnect in increasing trade and business in Africa beyond physical borders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tefconnect.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TEFConnect<\/a> is providing access to the over 450,000 entrepreneurs currently conversing and connecting to business opportunities on the platform. \u00a0At the Tony Elumelu Foundation, we have witnessed the transformation of our entrepreneurs who have benefitted from our rigorous entrepreneurship programme. TEFConnect offers the same tools, training, mentoring, funding and networking opportunities these entrepreneurs need to succeed. it is open to all entrepreneurs who wish to do business beyond borders,\u201d Folarin said.<\/p>\n<p>Pushing the message further and connecting it with the core theme of entrepreneurship, the Director of Partnerships, Tony Elumelu Foundation, Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu\u00a0represented the Foundation at IFC\u2019s Africa 2018 Forum in Sharm El Sheikh. There, she\u00a0spoke on the panel &#8220;Policy and Transformational Entrepreneurship&#8221;\u00a0at the Africa 2018 Forum on Friday, December 8\u00a0where she advocated for private and public sector collaboration to accelerate the economic transformation of the African continent. Citing the impact of the beneficiaries of the Tony Elumelu Foundation\u2019s Entrepreneurship Programme on the continent and their commitment to creating more jobs through their ventures,\u00a0Ms.\u00a0Ugochukwu emphasized the importance of investing in and creating the right environment for SMEs to thrive.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThere are millions of African entrepreneurs looking for training and funding to prove their concept. They need a peaceful and stable environment without multiple taxations.
