Nigeria’s SGF, Boss Mustapha, Commends Tony Elumelu Foundation on Partnership to Empower Nigerian Youths
On Thursday, May 24, Boss Mustapha, Nigeria’s Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) commended Tony Elumelu Foundation—Africa’s foremost champion of entrepreneurship on the continent—for its laudable contributions to the empowerment of Nigerian youths. This took place at the closing ceremony of National Youth Entrepreneurship Empowerment Summit (NYEES), a 2-day event in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Tony Elumelu Foundation partnered with the NYEES to offer training and mentorship to the selected entrepreneurs who pitched their businesses at the event. This partnership is strategic as the Foundation is committed to empowering African entrepreneurs and as demonstrated that through the 7,520 beneficiaries of its Entrepreneurship Programme.
Speaking at the event, Ifeyinwa Ugochuwu, CEO Tony Elumelu Foundation congratulated the organisers on the success of the event and closed her remarks by saying: “It is entrepreneurship that ensures that the youth have a job-creating mentality not a job-seeking mentality. It is therefore the only answer to the problem of unemployment that most African nations experience”.
Tony Elumelu Foundation continues to champion entrepreneurship in Africa and has empowered entrepreneurs across the 54 African countries of Africa. On the 26thand 27thof July, the Foundation will host the 5thedition of its Entrepreneurship Forum in the iconic Transcorp Hilton, where it will host an audience of 5,000 comprising of entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, development representatives and business influencers.
Special guests at the event included Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, GMD, United Bank for Africa, Kennedy Uzoka and CEO, The Jimi Tewe Company, Jimi Tewe.
