In 2024, Rutendo Georgia Kusano received TEF funding to grow Monkey Rain Atelier, a Harare-based fashion brand dedicated to bespoke bridal and special occasion wear. With creativity and determination, she set out to redefine couture in Zimbabwe.
Today, Monkey Rain Atelier is a name of distinction — dressing brides for life’s pivotal moments, collaborating with Miss World Zimbabwe and Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe, and partnering with institutions like the German Embassy, British Council, and Swiss Embassy. Rutendo was also selected as curator for the Zim Fashion Week Exhibition, cementing her role as a leader in the industry.
From seed funding to international recognition, Monkey Rain Atelier shows how vision and craftsmanship can elevate African fashion onto the global stage.
