Another female Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur, Chioma Ukonu, CEO of Recycle Points was selected to participate in the Cherie Blair Foundation Road2growth Business Programme. She sheds more light on her journey in this interview
TEF: How has the Lagos TEF Forum helped your business?
Chioma Ukonu: It’s been a wonderful experience; it has given me the opportunity to be at business events which I normally would have had limitations to. Recently I was selected to attend an Emotional Intelligence Masterclass all paid for and also the Lagos Business School African Business Conference. It has helped to give more visibility to my brand, RecyclePoints
TEF: Tell us about your journey to the Cherie Blair Foundation Road2growth Business Programme
CU: I saw the opening on social media and I applied and was taken. It’s been an insightful journey and my fears for numbers (business financials) has been dealt with over these few weeks
TEF: How has the journey been for your business after the TEF Forum?
CU: I have been able to introduce to Nigeria its First Electric Cargo Tricycle for door to door recycle waste collection. I have been able to complete the Mobile App for Recyclable waste collection and I am now in the process of scaling to other states in Nigeria
In Chioma’s words, “Have a vision. Because your vision keeps you focused on your purpose.”
