TEF: How has the the TEF Forum been since its inception?
Mariam Adams: The TEF Forum has been a great platform to bond and give opportunities beyond borders. The entrepreneurs get to patronize themselves which has opened doors to many other projects. Collaboration has been the essence of the forum as the entrepreneurs including Mariam get to organize online meetings, recommend clients to one another and seek other entrepreneurship opportunities.
TEF: You are one of the selected participants for the Cherie Blair Foundation’s Road2Growth. How has it been so far?
MA: My journey to Cherie Blair Foundation Road2growth Business Programme started when i received a letter I was chosen as part of the 500 women to fully participate in the programme for 6 weeks with in class and online trainings. Being selected for Road2growth was elating. It is a wakeup call to be at alert with my business growth. Gave me the opportunity to meet more great ladies with great business concepts and achievement. Tony Elumelu Female entrepreneurs never fail to support each other at our individual organised events so it wasn’t a surprise when we realised about 5 TEF Women had been chosen for programme as well in Lagos.
TEF: What have you been up to since you received the first tranche of your seed capital?
MA: I have been able to achieve the milestone of acquiring a conducive training facility for Hamazon ACADEMIA, I have formed alliance with two PR companies in promoting and running our campaign and also partnered with 3 major TV stations to provide Internship and job opportunities for our graduates. I intend to move to the next level
In Mariam’s words, “For every woman out there I will say JUMP. Always take a Leap of faith without looking back, the wave will mould you. The TEF Entrepreneurship Programme came into my life when I had lost all hope as concerning my business, it was my call to duty and self-realisation that I can do all things only if I believe. I am proud to be #TEF2015 alumni.”
