Earlier today, TEF CEO, Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu joined business leaders to speak at the AU-EU Youth MeetUp. She emphasised the need for gender inclusion and youth development to power sustainable development across the African continent.
“Women make up 70-80% of the African workforce. However, they only receive 10% of the gross income, and what’s more, own only 1% of property. Young people have the power to change these systems,” she said.
She spoke alongside Peter Versterbacka, Father of Angry Birds and Initiator of Ambitious Africa Initiative, Alima Bawah, Co-Founder of Cowtribe, Jaqueline Novogratz, Acumen Founder, and Esther Dassanou, Leader of Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA), an initiative of the African Development Bank.
