Several multinational companies struggle to expand their foot prints in developing countries due to the shortage of finding the right vendors who can help them in handling their localization process for their products or services. Realising this challenge, in 2016 Apple-Localization’s Services was launched in the heart of Cairo’s financial district by Tony Elumelu Foundation 2016 Entrepreneur, Amr Medhat, to provide law firms, educational, publishing, financial institutions and other organizations in the Egypt with dependable, affordable Artwork/Illustrations, Subscription, Subtitling, Consulting, Content development, Desktop publishing (DTP), Document translation, Editing, Glossary/Terminology, Graphics/3D animation, Graphics/Screen capture, Linguistic Testing, Localization, Multimedia localization, Proofreading, QA Testing, Software design, Translation, Interpreting, Voice over, Transcription, Transliteration.
It didn’t take long for Apple-Localization’s reputation for accuracy, reliability and convenience to spread. However, achieving success in business has not changed: The pride Apple-Localization takes in meeting the unique needs of customers around the world. The innovative team at Apple-Localization is pioneering fixed-rate translation prices and introducing team translations to accommodate with the budgets and time-constraints of our clients and on the industry interface in the use of high-tech tools to create a more accurate, more professional and more consistent translation. Apple-Localization matches each project with a professional linguist who has a specialized vocabulary and background in medical, technical, financial, legal, and marketing or another business field after checking with the vendor management team. Staff includes an experienced team of attorneys and legal professionals to provide international legal assistance. As the business expanded, so too did their office. In the last couple of years, they have extended operations with new offices in the US as well as affiliates in Europe, Asia and South America.
As businesses have entered the electronic age, Apple-Localization is growing to include multimedia and conference services to other services like voice overs, subtitles, graphic designs, audio enhancement, conference equipment and audio technicians etc. which over 400 local and multinational firms already rely on. Apple-Localization linguists and account executives continue to provide services so personalized that individuals and businesses of all sizes feel like they are the only client.
This line of business is not without challenges as there appears to be a shortage in the market from both sides; clients and vendors; clients can’t find the right persons who can enable them to expand their operations to new countries and the vendors who operate in developing countries don’t have the ability to reach those customers. Driven by a mission to make the world 1 connected place regardless of the language, culture, location or religion of the people and with his experience in project management and marketing and cross functional experience in more than 25 industries, he has been able to face the external market.
The success of Apple-Localization, Amr says has come with diligence and commitment “One day we received a new project from one of the most international clients in the Music sector called YAMAHA, they had assigned this project previously to a freelancer who had failed to deliver. However, we stepped in and handled it professionally on time and for free, it was just our start with YAMAHA, now they are one of our best clients on retainer. We also have success stories with several multinational companies like: Apple, IKEA, GAP, Western Union, Pfizer, Anthem, Google and Microsoft”.
Getting into the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme in 2016, changed the game for the Apple-Localization team, Amr says “Becoming a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur has been an exciting experience. TEF enabled us from start our operations in our platform and moves forward for the next milestones. It has also given us an opportunity to expand our networking cycles all over Africa with the support of other entrepreneurs and we have got several deals like the Microsoft4Africa on the wings of the foundation. I was also honoured to meet Mr. Tony Elumelu, CON. here inside Egypt and Apple-Localization has enjoyed great publicity from the support of TEF Media channels.
Apple-Localization operations also faces challenges in forms of government policy restrictions especially relating to their financials but Amr is optimistic things will improve. He is also relentless in growth of the organisation as he says they are in the process of opening a new office in Dubai, UAE centralized to service the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and help international companies there, He is also looking towards expanding operations to Europe and increasing staff strength to about 200 employees by 2019.
